"Ikebana with Baskets" video by Hideko Rainey

This year's exhibition theme is "Baskets" and features over 50 ikebana arrangements by Columbia Ikebana International members. A wide variety of schools and styles will be on displayed via slideshow with commentary by the arrangement creator.

This year's video demonstration will be by Hideko Rainey of Ikebana International Chapter 81 in Augusta GA.  The video is titled, Ikebana with Baskets. Hideko received her instructor certificate in Sogetsu in 1953 under the school's founder. Currently she is a first rank instructor, Riji, and has twice received the Sogetsu Lifetime Honor Award. She will be demonstrating arrangements in the Sogetsu school. Hideko has been an advisor to our chapter for many years and has generously shared her time and expertise, providing demonstrations, lessons and a connection with Japan. We are honored to have her as our presenter this year. She will be using her extensive basket collection (old and new!) for demonstration.

Access to the Zoom meeting is by request and anyone who is interested in ikebana is welcome to attend. Please submit a request to Chapter 182 for the zoom login information.

Following the Zoom meeting, photos of the member arrangements will be uploaded to tne Galleries tab and the video will be available under the Tutorials tab.
